Evelyn Kircher, 88

Evelyn Frandsen Kircher passed away peacefully on May 12, 2011.
She was born June 4, 1922, in Racine, to the late Marius and Martina Frandsen after they had immigrated here from Denmark.

Ev was very proud of her Danish heritage and traveled to Denmark numerous times to visit relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Kircher and her daughter, Kerry Kircher.

Ev is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Bradley) Egan, grandsons Carter and Patrick Egan; sister Anne Jorgenson; brother Raymond (Betty) Frandsen; sister in law Kay Best and other nieces and nephews.

Ev received her bachelorís degree and her masterís degree in education from the University of Wisconsin Madison where she was also a Sigma Kappa. She was a lifelong Madison and Badger fan. She was extremely knowledgeable about Badger football and was a season ticket holder for many years attending her last Rose Bowl in 1999. In her later years she and her sister, Anne, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Ev began her teaching career in Adams Friendship and eventually came to be a teacher and a guidance counselor at West Bend High School. She ended her teaching career as an instructor at Moraine Park Technical College where she retired in 1992. She was a dedicated teacher until the end and continued to keep in touch with many of her former students. She was also a member of Holy Angels Church, Cedar Lake Yacht Club, West Bend Country Club and AAUW.

There wasnít a topic that Ev couldnít talk about. She was always very ladylike and had a wicked sense of humor. Ev was extremely interested in current events, politics and sports. No crossword puzzle was too tough for her and even in the end she would recite the presidents in order to keep her mind sharp.

Her greatest joys in life were her two grandsons. She played a large part in their lives and they will miss not having her around anymore.

The family will hold a private memorial service for Ev.

Because of her lifelong love of learning, memorials to the West Bend COLUMNS Scholarship Foundation are appreciated. P.O. Box 397, West Bend, WI 53095.

Evís family would like to especially thank Bev, Carla, Jeanne and Aunt Kay for their kindness and care.
