Sherman A. Jackson, 98
Sherman A. Jackson, 98, of Jackson, formerly of Grand Island, Neb., passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Sherman was born on Oct. 10, 1913 in Braham, Minn., to Frithiof and Ellen (Nee Carlson) Jackson. He was united in marriage to Evelyn McClelland on May 23, 1953 in Red Lodge, Montana.
He was the hospital administrator of Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Grand Island, Neb., for 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Sherman loved traveling and camping. He loved to work with his hands in woodworking and finishing. He loved good music. He led a simple life with the priorities of God, family and work.
Sherman is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Evelyn. Dear father of Scott (Wanda) Jackson, Ricka (Bruce) Finn and Gretchen (Curt) Hueftle. Loving grandpa to Kenny, Trevor, Alissa (Brock), Ashley, Garrett and Rika. Proud great grandpa to Vance and Lauren. Dear brother of Elaine Jackson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sherman was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services for Sherman will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home. Visitation Monday from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
Interment at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
