Elroy E. Genz, 87, of the town of Barton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center in the town of West Bend. 

He was born on Sept. 29, 1924, in Saukville to the late Erwin and Elsie (nee Quass) Genz. On Oct. 19, 1946, Elroy was united in marriage to Laverne Backhaus at the Lutheran Church in Batavia. Laverne preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2005. 

He worked in production and as a product tester for the Gehl Company, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Gehl Hexelbank Club. 

Elroy is survived by three children, James (Nancy Schilling-Genz) Genz of West Bend, Pat (Joe) Bingen of Richfield and Judy (Dave) Loken of West Bend; sister, Delores Hoffman of Cedarburg and brother-in-law, Edward (Janice) Backhaus of Mayville; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laverne Genz; and son, Gary Genz. 

Private family services and inurnment in Washington County Memorial Park were held.
