Gertrude "Gertie" Mixdorf (nee Miller) of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg at the age of 96 years.
Gertie was born in the town of Jackson on July 28, 1915 to the late Carl & Adela (nee Wolfgram) Miller.
Gertie was a longtime active member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg where she was a charter member of the First Immanuel Ladies Aid, the FIL Quilters Group and many other groups and activities at church. She worked at Mercury Marine in Cedarburg and worked at the Krueger/Cedarburg Bakery for over 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Diane) Butt of Muskego, Richard (Karen) Butt of Nashotah and Wayne (Susan) Mixdorf of Oregon, Wis; daughter-in-law of Patricia (Brian) Wilmot and son-in-law Dennis Gross, sister-in-law Ethel Miller. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gertie was preceded in death by her husbands Milton Butt and Harry Mixdorf, one son, Harvey Butt, stepchildren Wilmer Mixdorf and Marion Gross.
Funeral services were held on Sunday Nov. 6, 2011 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Interment was at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation was held at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
