Marvin E. Dotzler, 79
Marvin E. Dotzler, 79, of Campbellsport
died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was
born Aug. 16, 1932 in Milwaukee to the late Marvin and Adelaide (nee Noll)
Dotzler and married Mary J. Grenas on May 16, 1969 in Waukegan, Ill.
Marvin played in a 10-piece band called the Sophisticats while in high
school. Following his graduation he served in the U.S. Army in Korea for
two years. After his discharge he began working for Trad Carpets as an
installer before founding J Carpets and Builders. He then owned Margets
Carpets and the Venture Inn until his retirement. Marvin enjoyed fishing,
gardening and reading.
He was a member of the West Bend Lodge 1398 Loyal Order of the
Moose.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary, six children: Keith
(Penny) of West Bend, Teresa (Dean) Schwichtenberg of West Bend, Conrad
(Julie) of West Bend, Dawn (Lori) Dotzler of New London, Stephanie
and Maresa and 10 grandchildren: Philip, Christa and Joshua Dotzler,
Michael and Elaina Schwichtenberg, Zachary and Matthew Dotzler and Ashley,
Jacob and Nicholas Thomas. He is further survived by two sisters in-law:
Maxine Frank of West Bend and Laurie Drozd of Iron Ridge, a brother-in-law
John Grenas of West Bend and nieces, nephews and other relatives and
friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Adelaide Dotzler, his
sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Alfred Kaplan and his step-father
Harry Kasdorf.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011
at noon at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport with the Rev.
Neil Zinthefer presiding. Please meet at church for Mass. Inurnment will
take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park
