Ruth D. Campbell, 86

Ruth D. Campbell, 86, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. 

She was born on June 28, 1925, in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Louis and Ola (nee Strean) Koenig, and on Jan. 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Sylvester "Bud" Campbell at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Bud preceded Ruth in death on January 30, 1994. 

Ruth owned Campbell’s Village Inn in Kewaskum for 24 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum, the XYZ Club and numerous card clubs. Ruth was a delivery person for Meals on Wheels, and was a taxi for numerous friends in town. She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos and playing bingo. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her. 

Those Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Judy Campbell and Peggy Wuthrich both of Kewaskum; two sons-in-law, Richard Klug of Cedarburg and Mike Cebula of Montello; four grandchildren, Michele (Jason) Oertel, Kim (Shawn) Gahan, Michael (Theresa) Klug and Dan Klug; eight great-grandchildren, Alex and Ashley Roeske, Logan, Coleton, Carter and Meghyn Oertel, Conner Gahan, and Xander Klug; a brother, Louie Koenig of West Bend, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth "Kenny" Campbell; a daughter, Kari Klug; three sisters and two brothers. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial will be on Friday at 10 a.m. in the parish cemetery. 

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of mass. 

Memorials to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or St. Jude’s Hospital are appreciated by the family. 

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Ruth’s arrangements.
