June Zimbal, 70
June
Zimbal (nee Schinker), 70, of the town of West Bend, passed away on
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1941 in Port Washington to the late Vincent
and Leona Schinker. At an early age, the family moved to a farm in
the town of Wilson in Sheboygan County. On Aug. 18, 1962, she married the
love of her life, James Zimbal at St. George Catholic Church, Sheboygan
Falls (Six Corners). After high school graduation, June was employed at
the Mayline Company in Sheboygan as a receptionist, then at JC Penney
Catalog in West Bend and later as a part-time secretary for the city of
West Bend.
She was a member of the Christian Women’s Society of St. Frances Cabrini
Church and the Scarlet Gems Social Club. She enjoyed being at her
grandchildren’s games, family gatherings, golfing, playing bridge and
traveling.
June is survived by her husband, James; cherished children, David (Jill)
Zimbal of West Bend, Mark (Sherry) Zimbal of Delafield, and Jill (Jon)
Franklin of West Bend; six loving grandchildren, William and Mary Zimbal,
Brady and Ryan Franklin, and Madison and Joshua Zimbal; cherished
siblings, Ruth Macier of Spring Grove, Ill., Joyce Wagner of Valders, and
Vincent Schinker of Eagle River; brothers-in-law, Roger Wagner of Valders,
and Robert Zimbal of Sheboygan; sisters in-law, Suzanne Shetney of
Madison, Carla Schinker of Eagle River, and Audrey Zimbal of Sheboygan.
She is further survived by
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents,
Vincent and Leona Schinker; parentsin-law, Roland and Aurelia Zimbal;
brothers-in-law, Dale Macier and Orville Shetney; and a special aunt,
Dorothy Ternes.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at 7
p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish (1025 S. 7th Ave., West Bend,
53095) with Fr. Nathan Reesman presiding. The visitation will be held on
Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Phillip
Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, 53095). Private
interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials would be appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini School or the
Threshold (600 Rolfs Ave, West Bend, WI, 53090).
The family would like to thank Katie Bush, Rachel Haggarty, Therese Quinn
and the staff of the Kraemer Cancer Center for the care they provided
June.
