Gavin Lee Hansen, 74 Gavin Lee Hansen, born May 19, 1937, in Coleman, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer on Nov. 17, 2011. He was the loving husband and best friend of 51 years to Barbara (nee Brown); cherished father of Anne Marie (Ron) Putzer, Julie (Tim) Petrich, Amy (Skip) McConeghy and Beth (Chris) Cook; proud grandpa of Amanda, Adam and Abby Putzer; David, Katie and Mark Myers; Taylor Petrich; Daniel, Nick, Ian and Kara McConeghy, Emma, Alex and Merrigan Cook. Gavin was the devoted son of Blanche Hansen and dear brother to Allen (Sandy) Hansen; and brother-in-law to Jerry (Donna) Brown and George (Bonnie) Brown. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Hansen, and father, Leo Hansen. Gavin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the Lake House. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan and proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Deer hunting with family and friends was also one of his favorite pastimes and something he looked forward to every year. Visitation for Gavin was held on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at St Joseph’s Parish, 1619 Washington St., Grafton, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. A private interment was held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Logan James Herr Foundation or St. Joseph’s Parish Workcamp. The family would like to thank Columbia St Mary’s Ozaukee hospital ICU/Acuity Adaptable unit and Horizon Homecare and Hospice for the care and concern shown to Gavin.
