Frederick Mueller Jr., 51

Frederick William Mueller, Jr., 51, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at his home in Nolalu, Ontario, Canada. 

He was born on June 12, 1960, in West Bend and was raised on the family farm. He attended St. Frances Cabrini grade school and graduated from West Bend East High School in 1978. Fred went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He traveled the country and settled on a forested farm in Nolalu. Fred loved the rural countryside Canada had to offer and he spent years designing and building his own home with materials he prepared from his land. 

Fred married the love of his life, Katrin Hqrzeler on May 31, 2003, at St. Phillip’s Church in Hymers, Ontario. He was self-employed in building construction and volunteered as a firefighter in Nolalu. He recently graduated from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and physics, earning first-class standing; 

Fred is survived by his wife, Katrin; parents, Frederick William and Pearl (Wagner) Mueller of West Bend; parents-in-law, Cajetan and Barbara Hürzeler of Switzerland; siblings, Ann Marie (John) Craig of West Bend, Mary (Jim) Boldt of West Bend, Janet (Steve) Gustman of Mari-nette, Rita (Mike) Nowotny of Peshtigo, Bruce (Jill) Mueller of Annandale, Va., Carol (John) Hanrahan of Waterford and Kathleen (Paul) Noetzel of Grafton; godchild Elena Noetzel; many nieces and nephews and good friend, Stephen Holz, of Grand Marais, Minn. In addition, Fred and Katrin are expecting their first child in early 2012. 

Fred is preceded in death by grandparents John and Rosa (Redig) Wagner and Henry and Maria (Dielentheis) Mueller and brother in-law, Cajetan Marc Hürzeler. 

A Memorial Mass in celebration of Fred’s life will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. A gathering will follow at noon, in the church hall. 

Memorials will be placed in a fund for Fred and Katrin's child.
