Marion J. Gehl, nee Lilly, 86, of West Bend, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Kathy Hospice, West Bend. 

She was born May 28, 1925, in Whitefish Bay to the late John and Helen (nee Schultz) Lilly. She married John Gehl on January 31, 1945. Marion enjoyed time with her family and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her yard and refinishing antiques. 

She is survived by four children, James Gehl of Brookfield, Dennis (Sharon) Gehl of Hubertus, Sharon (John) Zak of Fox Lake, and Wendy (John) Steffan of West Bend; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Gordon) Nichols of Whitefish Bay, and Lucille "Dolly" (Ken) Manginen of Ontonagon, MI; a brother, Elmer Lilly of Florida; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Diane Gehl; and five siblings, Merlin, Ray, Helen, Art, and Norman. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend, with the Rev. Gerald Presuhn officiating. Visitation will be at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, on Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
