Frederick William Mueller

Frederick William Mueller, 90, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, surrounded by his family at his home in West Bend.

Frederick William, "Bill", was born in Bendorf am Rhein, Germany, on May 4, 1921 to Henry and Maria (Dielentheis) Mueller. In 1925, he moved with his parents to West Bend. He grew up in West Bend and attended Holy Angels Grade School and the West Bend High School. He went to college at UWMadison and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill served in the U.S. Military Service from 1944-45. He later earned the standing of Professional Engineer from the state of Wisconsin.

In 1956, Bill married Pearl Wagner and they raised a family of eight children on the family farm. He was employed by the West Bend Company as a professional engineer for more than 35 years. While Bill was successful in his career, his family was always the most important part of his life. Bill also spent several years singing with the Milwaukee Liedertafel German choir. In addition, he was active with the Apostolate of the Suffering and the Young at Heart groups.

Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pearl (Wagner) of West Bend; children Ann Marie (John) Craig of West Bend, Mary (Jim) Boldt of West Bend, Janet (Steve) Gustman of Marinette, Rita (Michael) Nowotny of Peshtigo, Bruce (Jill) of Annandale, VA, Carol (John) Hanrahan of Waterford and Kathleen (Paul) Noetzel of Cedarburg; daughter-in-law Katrin (Hürzeler) Mueller of Nolalu, Ontario. His grandchildren include Erin (Sam) Bergstrom, Emily and Madeleine Craig; Erich, Andrew and Nathan Boldt; Stephen, Timothy and Matthew Gustman; Jason, Benjamin and Sarah Nowotny; Alexis Mueller; Mariah and Ethan Hanrahan; Clara, Elena, Gabriel and Jacob Noetzel. His 20th grandchild is expected in January 2012. Bill is further survived by a very special cousin, Josephine Kohl.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Maria (Dielentheis) Mueller, son Frederick William Mueller, Jr. and grandson Henri William Noetzel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Private burial services will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation to be held at the church only from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., preceding the mass.
