Marian L. Scharpf
Marian L. Scharpf (nee Rettler), 83, of Hartford, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday morning, Oct. 21, 2011.
She was born Dec. 2, 1927 in Hartford to William and Hilda (nee Aufdermauer) Rettler . Marian was united in marriage to Anthony "Tony" Scharpf on June 10, 1950 at St. Kilian Church in Hartford, he preceded her in death in March of 2005.
Marian was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford . Marian was a devoted mother and grandma, she loved her family and will be sadly missed but dearly remembered.
She is survived by her children Lee (Christiane) of Hartford and Mark (Joyce) of Rubicon; four grandchildren Tara (Joe) Wiemer, Sam (Kim) Scharpf, Christopher Scharpf and Matthew Scharpf; three great grandchildren Reed, Lizzie and Oliver; sister Alice Lindert of Hartford; and her brothers-in-law Gene Mertz of Hartford, George Guidice of Sparta, and Roger Klemp of Watertown.
Marian is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate Tony Scharpf, brother Arnold (Bernadette) Rettler, and her sisters Anita (Sylvan) Becker, Florence (Joe) Klink, and Ann Mertz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at 7 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford.
