Dylan Leonard McGraw Dylan Leonard McGraw was a special child who will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Dylan spent the totality of his short precious life cared for in the NICU at Children’s Hospital by their untiring and committed staff of nurses, physicians, therapists and department staff. He loved his parents very much, the voice and kisses of those who loved him, his baths and hair shampoos, massages and physical therapy. He survived eight surgical procedures, many tests and assessments and was determined to spend the rest of his life with his family and his pets. His little body could not keep up with his desire to stay with us. We are better people for having this sweet little boy in our life even for a short while; to share his desire to survive and flourish, and to witness the perpetual miracle of family love and the power of parental selflessness. Dylan was born on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, to Patrick and Jennifer McGraw and died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at home in the arms of his parents. In addition to his parents Dylan is survived by his grandfather, Mark McGraw of Mequon; grandmother, Georgia Battermann (James Battermann) of Mequon; and his great-grandmother McGraw. He is further survived by his Aunt Lizzy and Uncle Nick Pagenkopf, his grandmother, Judy Pagenkopf; great-grandmother Shields; grandfather, Don Josephson (Susan Josephson); great-grandmother Josephson; and a multitude of extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Rolland and Katherine Bessey of Grafton, and three great-grandfathers. Funeral services were held at Krause Funeral Home in New Berlin on Thursday, Oct. 20. We are at peace knowing our sweet boy, Dylan, is at peace, and bless the day he was born. We look forward to Gods’ promise when we will be reunited with Dylan with joy and happiness. |
