Julia A. Leichtle, 69

Julia A. Leichtle (nee Wessel) of Grafton was born to eternal life Aug. 31, 2011, at the age of 69.

A celebration of Juliaís life was held at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Mequon on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. Pastor Jeremy Koehler officiated the service.

Julia was born March 30, 1942 in Milwaukee and grew up with her family in Mequon. She graduated from Cedarburg High School in the class of 1960. She completed nursing school at MATC in the class of 1963. Julia worked as a nurse at St. MichaelHospital in Milwaukee. In 1964 she was married to James Leichtle. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Julia was a proud wife, mother and homemaker. Once their children were grown, Julia enjoyed working at Don Everixís Bakery in Grafton. She was a proud lifelong member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, where she spent much of her spare time volunteering. She loved spending time with family and friends and biking and traveling with her husband, Jim. Most of all, she cherished every moment she got to spend with her grandchildren, whether it was playing a game of cards, baking cookies or going to the park.

Julia is survived by her beloved husband, James Leichtle; loving children, Christine (Patrick) Brady of Bedford, Texas, Steven of Grafton, Mitchell (Katherine) of Cedarburg and Paul (Chanda) Leichtle of Denver. Julia was the proud grandma of Roselyn and Alexis Leichtle; and Kathryn and Luke Brady; daughter-in-law of Pearl Uzzle; dear sister of William (Carla) Wessel; and sister-in-law of Carol (Joseph) Gasparek. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Sandra (Jason) Stevens, Christie (Michael) Stark; Michael (Jennifer) Gasparek, Mark (Michelle) Gasparek and Shelly Leighton, along with other relatives and many friends.
