Jeanne L. Protzman, 87 Mrs. Jeanne L. Protzman, of Port Washington, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 20, 2011, at Luther Manor at River Oaks in Mequon. She was 87 years old. Jeanne was born March 1, 1924, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Raymond and Amanda Larsen Leffingwell. On Aug. 24, 1945, she was united in marriage with LeRoy Protzman at First Presbyterian Church in Glen Falls, N.Y. He preceded her in death in 2000. The couple moved to Port Washington in the late 1980s, and enjoyed summering in Jacksonport in Door County. Jeanne was a member of the Port Washington Garden Club, and volunteered at the Food Pantry, Pebble House and Ozaukee County Humane Society. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, kids and dogs. Jeanne is survived by her children, Carol (Robert) Mueller of Whitefish Bay, Thomas Protzman of Green Bay, Jeffrey (Sherri) Protzman of Salt Lake City and Christopher (Debbie) Protzman of Maryville, Tenn. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Sue Protzman of Green Bay; grandchildren, Stacy (Rob) McNeil, Zachary Protzman, Nathaniel (Kari) and Alexis Mueller, and Benjamin and Corey Protzman; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Max and Claire McNeil; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; and their son, Robert. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Pastor Franz Rigert will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Due to road construction, off of Interstate 43, exit on Highway 32/V (Exit 93) towards Port Washington. Follow Highway 32, which becomes Spring Street, to stop lights at Grand Avenue. Turn left and continue to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee Humane Society.
