Harland Paul Nonhof, 82

Harland Paul Nonhof, 82, of Surprise, Ariz., died Sept. 13, 2011, in Sun City West, Ariz. 

Born Jan. 26, 1929, in Cedar Grove, to Anna (nee Dees) and Harry Nonhof, he married Marlys Herber June 14, 1952 in Sheboygan. For over 27 years he taught music in grades five through 12 in New London, Greenwood and Camp-bellsport. He lived in West Bend prior to moving to Arizona in 2003. 

Survivors are his wife Marlys Nonhof of Surprise, Ariz.; children Terri (Ro-bert) Witte of Union Grove, Michael (Laurel) Nonhof of Surprise, Ariz., and Diana Portlance of West Bend; grandchildren Brian Witte of Union Grove, Kristen (Ron) Beesley of Burlington, Branden (Rachel) Witte of Union Grove, Kaitlin Portlance of West Bend, and Julie, Ashley, Bryanah and Alexander Nonhof of Surprise, Ariz.; and great-grandchildren Carter Witte (deceased 2010), Ronnie Beesley, III of Burlington, Ella Skylar of Union Grove. 

Preceding him in death were his father, Harry Nonhof; mother, Anna Nonhof; sister, Anita Nonhof; sister, Elizabeth (Peter) Joosse; brother, Bernard (Martha) Nonhof; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Oct. 16 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., in West Bend, and Oct. 23 at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 13131 Spanish Gardens, in Sun City West, Ariz., with the same schedules: visitation 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., services 3 p.m. with a meal and more visiting to follow. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society and/or the Music Department of either of the churches.
