James William McCulloch, 91

James William “Bill” McCulloch, 91, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1921, in Joliet, Ill., to the late William and Angela (nee Reedy) McCulloch. He graduated from Northwestern University with a business degree after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as the personnel manager of American Medical Association in Chicago, and then as director of personnel management at The Sisters of Holy Cross for over 10 years in South Bend, Ind. He also served as director of personnel for various hospital organizations throughout the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane (nee Shirk); daughter Maryanne (John) Plant of West Bend; grandchildren Ellice Plant of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joel (Margo) Plant of Milwaukee, Christopher Plant of Waukesha, and Katie (Nolan) Erdman of Wauwatosa; and great-grandchildren Milo, Oliver and Oscar Plant. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Vera Mitchell, Jean Stephens and John McCulloch.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend) with Fr. Gerald Brittian presiding. The visitation will be held at the church on Monday, April 9, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Ind., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church.
