Gordon R. ‘Gordy’ Nelsen, 62|
Funeral services will be held today, April 12, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Grafton, 979 N. Green Bay Road, for Gordon R. “Gordy” Nelsen, 62, of Grafton. He died on Sunday, April 8, 2012, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held today at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.

Gordy was born in Waukesha on Dec. 27, 1949, the son of Ralph and Margaret Nelsen. He was united in marriage to Sue Ellen Schroeder on Nov. 25, 1976. Gordy has touched many hearts of children, parents, teachers, co-workers and many friends. He was the custodian in the Grafton Public School system for 44 years. He was a very proud and dedicated employee and his work ethic was very strong.
He was a person who recycled everything he could. Gordy was a fountain of information when it came to the history of the Grafton, Cedarburg and Port Washington area. Gordy always put everyone else before himself. He was a very giving and wonderful man with a gentle soul and had the gift of gab.
Gordy is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen; children, John Drescher II, Dwight Drescher, Marnie Schaefgen and Teri Klipstein; grandchildren, Alyssa, Melissa, Lindsey, Michael and Elizabeth Drescher, Jacob and Brandon Drescher, Cheyenne, Austin and Sierra; mother, Margaret Nelsen, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and his sister.
