Bernice M. Shudy, 94
 

Bernice M. Shudy of Grafton passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg at the age of 94.

Bernice was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 9, 1917, to Albert and Freida (nee Schille) Gevers, who preceded her in death.

Bernice was a longtime active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, the Grafton Senior Center where she sang with the Silver Belles and played a role as one of the Grafton "Golden Girls" in skits. She also enjoyed making and gifting quilts and crocheted afghans, along with reading novels and cookbooks. Her special joys late in life were meeting great-grandchildren, taking rides in the country and cheering on her favorite football teams, the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.

She is survived by her children, Gail Bruss of Grafton, Gary (Juana) of Phoenix and Gene (Jane) of Appleton; grandchildren, Christine

(Frederick) Strampe, Steve (Jackie) Bruss, Andrew (Jennifer) Bruss, Anne (Ben) Shudy Palmer, Matthew (Mary) Shudy, and David (Jenny) Shudy; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and Aaron Bruss, Dylan and Nathaniel Bruss and William Shudy. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Inurnment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation was held at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to the church or your choice are appreciated.
