Gordon F. Heiden, 88

Gordon F. Heiden, 88, of Cedarburg, formerly of Union Grove, passed away Friday evening, April 13, 2012, at Lasata Care Center, Cedarburg, where he was a resident.

He was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Mequon, the son of Frank and Hilda

Bergholz Heiden. They preceded him in death. He was a 1942 graduate

of Cedarburg High School. On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Lois Japke in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1976. On Sept. 2, 1978, he married Eva Rettammel-Whitman in Union Grove. She preceded him in death in 2001.

Gordon was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend and enjoyed playing sheepshead, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an over-the-road owner-operator of an 18-wheeler for many years. After retiring, he worked at the Ace Hardware Store in Union Grove.

Survivors include three daughters, Daune Belongia of San Ramon, Calif., Debra Rittmann of West Bend and Cheryl (Bill) Hartwig of Cedarburg; his son, Allen (Deb) Heiden of Brown Deer, two stepdaughters, Sharon (Butch) Mueller of Union Grove and Anita (Jim) Mucci of Burlington; stepdaughter-in-law Joyce Whitman of Sheboygan;

12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a stepson, Chuck; and a brother, William.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church of West Mequon, 11450 N. Wauwatosa Road, Mequon. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Paulís Lutheran Church, Union Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lasata Care Center Activities Fund or the Alzheimerís Association are appreciated.

A special thanks to the staff at Lasata Care Center and Heartland Hospice for the kind, loving care given to Gordon.
