June C. Zinkgraf, 88

June C. Zinkgraf, nee Handke, 88, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Luke Medical Center, Milwaukee.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1923, in Manitowoc to the late Leslie and Marvel (nee Kummerow) Handke. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Zinkgraf on June 16, 1951, at Immanuel E&R Church in West Bend. Robert passed away Feb. 14, 1995.

June was an educator in the Cedarburg and West Bend School Districts for 25 years and she was an author of professional educational books for teachers. June also operated Our Old House Antiques and Collectibles in West Bend with her husband and sister.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Leanne) Zinkgraf of West Bend; her sister, Nancy (Fred) Ladwig of Kewaskum; a sister-in-law, Vivian Zinkgraf of DePere; two nieces, Bonnie (Robert) Johnson of West Bend and Dr. Joan (Mark) Handeland of DePere; two nephews, Dale (Debra) Zinkgraf of Minnesota and James (Lynn) Zinkgraf of Appleton; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Jason Johnson, Steve Handeland, Jessica (Eric) Lanier, Ryan Zinkgraf, Rachel Zinkgraf, Andrea Zinkgraf and Dylan Zinkgraf; also survived by Leanne’s parents, William and Diane Emory of West Bend; Leanne’s brothers, Hackett (Sarah) Emory of Minnesota, and Will (Jen) Emory of Menomonee Falls; Leanne’s nieces and nephews, William, Charles, Christopher, Laura, Chelsea, Meghan, and Mitchell; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a nephew, Thomas Ladwig, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Zinkgraf.

A visitation in remembrance of June will be held on Thursday, April 26, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Myrhum–Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. A private, family graveside service will follow at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
