Richard
R. Heppner, 57, passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012.
He was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 2, 1954, to Raymond and
Rosemary (nee Mullins) Heppner. He graduated from
Hartford Union High School Class of ’73 and then joined
the National Guard. He married Roxanne (nee Behr) on
Nov. 24, 1973, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Slinger.
He worked in maintenance at several companies, including
the former Mirco Design Company.
He loved spending time in Rhinelander, fishing, watching
science fiction movies and doing word search puzzles. He
was an avid fan of NASCAR racing. Above all, he enjoyed
being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He
was a member of the National Guard and Dart Club.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne; cherished
children, Jeni (Mike) Stopar of Eden, Chris of
Campbellsport, Jeanna (Nick) Camp of Slinger, and Megan
(special friend, Kris) of Lomira; beloved grandchildren,
Ally, Leanna and Brooklynn Stopar, Easton and Lily
Heppner, and Kaleb and Hayden Camp; sister, Cindy Weinke
of Waupun; brother, John Heppner of Muncie, Ind.;
brothers-in-law, Alan and Ronnie Behr of Slinger;
nieces, Sarah (Aaron) Weinberger of Waupun and Ashley
Weinke of Green Bay; and nephew, Eric (Katie) Weinke of
Knobnoster, Mo. He is further survived by his beloved
companion, Dixie, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother,
Robert; parents-in-law, Elmer and Betty Behr; and Aunt
Sharon Cheeseman.
Private services will be held on Aug. 31, 2012, in
Rhinelander.
