Carol Nell Wiegers,
Carol Nell Wiegers (nee Calvert) of Cedarburg passed away on Aug. 16, 2012, at the age of 83.
Carol was born on June 25, 1929, to David and Viola (nee Rogahn) Calvert. After graduating from Custer High School in 1947, she met Raymond P. Wiegers Jr. They were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1949, at St. Elizabeth Rectory in Milwaukee.
In 1966, the couple settled in Thiensville along with their three children. Carol enjoyed being an at-home mom and participated in many organizations and clubs. She was a member of the PTA, Postscripts, Library League and the Mequon Womanís Club, where she served as president. Carol enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bridge, but above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Carol was a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and participated in Bible study.
On Aug. 28, 2005, Carol suffered a life-changing stroke. She dealt with this adversity with grace and dignity and always had a smile on her face.
Carol is survived by her three children, Thomas (Dana Lee) Wiegers, Mary (Margaret A. James) Wiegers and Pamela (Robert) Helf; grandchildren, Alison and Bobby Helf; sisters and brothers, Jean Schaefer, William (Louise) Paepcke, Richard (Ann) Calvert, Denis
(Barbara) Calvert, Ruth Ann (Gary) Otte, Judy Hecker and James(Rachel) Calvert. She is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Wiegers Jr.; infant son, Raymond P. (Skippy) Wiegers III; and sister, Sandra Igler.
A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, Mequon.
