Mary Ellyn Steward, 54


Mary Ellyn Steward passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012. She was born to Don and June (nee Patten) Steward on Nov. 29, 1957. Mary was surrounded by love her entire life. All who knew her, even briefly, were truly blessed by her joyful spirit and touched by her beaming smile.

Mary enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, bowling, swimming and many Portal events, Pace activities and community employment, and other social activities. She especially loved to dance.

Survivors include her two brothers, Gordie Steward of Lomira and Jim (Nancy) Steward of West Bend, and nephews Jeff (Callie) Steward of Seattle and Dan Steward of Portage. She is also survived by other relatives and many special friends.

There will be a memorial service held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at St Peter’s United Church of Christ, 166 W. Dekora St., in Saukville. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mary’s primary caregivers of more than 20 years, Balance Inc., 134 Foster Drive, Saukville, WI 53080, would be appreciated. The Schramka-Densow Funeral Home of Thiensville is assisting the family.
