Braydon N. Matter, 3
Braydon
Nicholas Matter, 3, of Grafton was taken home to be with
Jesus on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 after a lifelong struggle
with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) and its related
complications. He was born on Aug. 13, 2009 in
Milwaukee, son of Nicholas and Kendra (Rusch) Matter.
Braydon frequently expressed his faith in Jesus and
often referred to his home in heaven. It wasn’t unusual
for Braydon to reassure his family and friends that he
was ready to be with Jesus. He dearly loved and embraced
all who knew him with his jubilant soul and contagious
giggle. Braydon was a fun-loving boy who enjoyed stuffed
animals, bubbles and playing with his big brother. All
who knew Braydon remember his big blue eyes, a stuffed
animal under his arm and a nuk in between his great big
smile. Braydon would remind us “Don’t be sad” and “Be
happy.”
He is survived by his parents, Nick and Kendra Matter of
Grafton, best friend and brother, Colson, maternal
great-grandparents, Franklin and Adeline Held of
Batavia, maternal grandparents, “Papa” Gerald and “Nana”
Karen Rusch of Cedarburg, Uncle Bradley (Alison Propson)
Rusch of Barton, Auntie Emily (fiancé Derek Bartelt)
Rusch of Cedarburg; paternal great-grandparents, Floyd
and Mary Lyneis of Grafton and Lucille (late Roman)
Matter of Cedarburg, paternal grandparents, “Papa” Mark
and “Gramma” Amy Matter of Cedarburg, Uncle and
godfather, Nathan (Heather Rucks) Matter of Cedarburg;
and godmother, Anna Hering of Grafton. Braydon was also
loved and cherished by his beloved pet Bubba and many
special caretakers, including adopted grandmas,
therapists, medical staff, and friends. He is preceded
in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Erwin and
Selma Rusch.
A celebration of his life will take place at 5 p.m. on

of the church. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in
