Allan G. Schuster, 91

Allan G. Schuster, 91 years old, of 107 Cedar Ridge rive, West Bend, passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m.-noon at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (Halfway Church) in the town of Lomira. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at noon at the church with the Rev. Matthew Kuske and the Rev. Robert Hein officiating. Interment will take place at St. Petri Cemetery in the town of Theresa. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post No. 270 of Theresa.

Allan was born on Aug. 24, 1921 to Willard and Mathilda (Koenig) Schuster. He was united in marriage to Edna H. Neitzel on Aug. 7, 1945, in Theresa. Allan was 1932 graduate of Mayville High School. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army where he served for 2 1/2 years. While in service, Allan was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He was a cheese maker for 14 years and retired as a mason. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was a lifetime member of the Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post No. 270 of Theresa and a past member of the Mayville VFW.

In his spare time Allan loved traveling, camping, sheepshead, socializing, rummaging, his 25+ plus trips to Canada fishing with his wife and Rube. He also enjoyed the special time he had in 2010 being part of an Honor Flight. Allan loved the winters spent with his loving wife and relatives and friends in Apache Junction, Ariz.

Allan is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Edna; five children; David (Jeanie) Schuster of Front Royal, Va., Kristine Becker of Florida, Richard (Betty) Schuster of Kewaskum, Elaine (Tom) Walters of West Bend and Dwaine (Nancy) Schuster of Kewaskum. His sister, Janet Checolinski. His brother, Glenn Schuster. His grandchildren, Angie Marlow, Kasey (Sarah) Becker, Kerrie (Tony) Lischka, Kelly (fiancé Chris) Becker, Michael (Cindy) Schuster, Rachaell Frank, Tina Merkt, Eric Merkt, Paul (Andrea) Merkt, Jim (Colleen) Walters, Matthew Walters, Stephanie (Tim) Coughlin, Lynn (Jon) Schmidt, Sandra (Kenny) Asselin, and Jessica Schuster. Sixteen great grandchildren. Eight sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents his brothers; Rube, Carl, Howard, and Kenneth. Four grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Kory and Jason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Organ Fund or to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
