Gerald G. Peters, 81, of Rubicon died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the
Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was born Sept. 17, 1931 in West Bend
to the late Alex and Veronica (nee Schladweiler) Peters and was united in
marriage to Bethana E. Boyung on Sept. 17, 1959, in the town of West Bend.
Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Following his discharge he began his career as a carpenter. He
enjoyed deer hunting and gardening.
He showed great affection and love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bethana; seven children,
Michael (Sheree) of Roberts, Wis., Steve (Celia) of Necedah, Jim of
Stevensville, Mich., Darryl (Tracy) of Plymouth, Susan (Rodney) Roskopf of
Edgar, Thomas of Hartford and Brian (Theresa) of Roseville, Minn.; and 15
grandchildren, Steven (Stephanie), Clinton and Jacqueline Peters,
Benjamin, Grace and Sophia Peters, Jason and Sylvia Peters, Jonathan,
Jason, Jacob and Rachel Roskopf, and Isabella, Abigail and Olivia Peters.
He is further survived by his two great-grandchildren, Lylah and Macy
Peters; six siblings, Donna (Glen) Becker, Marietta Guenther, Beatrice
(Robert) Boldt, Loretta Justman, Leon (Cynthia) and Alan (Rita); three
sisters-in-law, Eleanor Peters, Jean Beinborn and Christine Peters; and
nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Veronica; three
brothers, Vernon, Ralph and Linus; two brothers-in-law, Richard Guenther
and Henry Justman; and his nephew, Danny Peters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 11
a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev.
Enrique Hernandez presiding. Burial will follow in Washington County
Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in
West Bend from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. and also Monday, at
the church from 10-10:45 a.m.
