David J. Cox, 83|
J. Cox, 83, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Alden
Estates in Jefferson. As per his wishes, no funeral service will be
held. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Helenville. Military
Graveside Rites will be conducted.
David James Cox was born on Oct. 23, 1929, the son of Clarence and Irma
(Heine) in the town of Palmyra. He was a graduate of St. Mark’s Lutheran
school in 1945. David served in the United States Army and served in
Korea. After the war, he drove cement truck for many years. On June 26,
1954, Dave married the former Betty Bratz at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
in Watertown. He eventually retired from 4X Corporation in Beaver Dam.
David was a lifelong resident of Watertown and the surrounding
area.Prior to moving to Alden Estates last year, he had lived at Johnson
Arms in Watertown for over five years.
David enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family and
friends. He was especially looking forward to the upcoming birth of his
first great-grandchild in February 2013. He is survived by his daughter-inlaw
Lori Oelhafen Cox of Allenton; his grandson Joshua (Theresa Zimmerman
Cox) of Lomira; his granddaughter Codi of West Bend; his brother LeRoy
(Chris) Tietz of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and
David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty in April of
2006; his son Douglas in January of 2011; a granddaughter, Nevada Lynn
Cox in January of 1989; and one step-brother, Gilbert Tietz.
