Roger Walker, 72

Roger Walker, 72, Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at his residence under Ministry Home Hospice Care.

Roger was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Jeanette (Jaster) Walker. He married Ann “Annie” Marie Geib on Sept. 7, 1962 in West Bend; she passed away July 27, 2002.

Roger had been a Tomahawk resident since 1967. He worked as a driver with UPS for 37 years. Roger was formerly very active with Little League in the Nokomis area. He was meticulous about his yard, loved nature and living in the north woods. Roger was a “social hunter,” enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He was former member of the Air National Guard for eight years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Survivors include: Daughter Christine (Dan Week) Walker of Tomahawk and sister Barbara (John) Brunner of Hartland. Roger is further survived by two grandchildren, Brittany Walker and Dylan Week, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Annie and son John.

A Memorial Mass for Roger Walker will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. The Rev. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 1 p.m. Burial of Roger’s ashes will take place at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the town of Nokomis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Mary Legacy Fund are greatly appreciated.
