Veronica Sterr, 82
Veronica
Antoinette Sterr (nee Frigo), 82, was called to her heavenly home on
Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012. She was born on Dec. 22, 1929, in Pound, the
daughter of the late Louis and Guistina Frigo and spent her childhood
life helping in the Frigo Cheese Company in Lena.
In 1962, she was united in marriage to Gerald Sterr and Lomira became
her home until Gerald’s death in 1997. From there she lived in Fond du
Lac while spending her winters in Florida.
Veronica was a dynamic and dedicated woman with her family, career and
religious beliefs. She graduated from St. Mary Springs High School,
attended nursing school at St. Agnes and then graduated with a degree
from Marquette University. Her first job was as the Washington County
Nurse in the late 1950s.
After spending years working as a registered nurse in the nursing field,
she became an instructor at Moraine Park Technical College. Veronica was
an early believer in the benefits of holistic health and used her
knowledge to share with others as the president of the Natural Food
Association of Wisconsin.
Besides her career achievements, she enjoyed spending time with her
family and friends, golfing, gardening and being a volunteer in her
community and Those Veronica leaves behind to cherish her memory include
two children, Gregory (Lorna) Sterr of West Bend and Stephanie (Scott)
Skorik of Cedarburg; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Gassner of
Brownsville, Christine Sterr of California, Taylor, Zach and Hailey
Skorik of Cedarburg; two great-grandchildren, Tenley and Trista Gassner
of Brownsville; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her loving husband, Gerald and her parents, Veronica was
preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Veronica will be held at 11:30 a.m. on
Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira and
burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m.
until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer’s Disease Research are
appreciated.

The Sterr family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the entire
staff of Serenity Villa in Slinger for the compassionate care provided
to Veronica.
