Dorothy L. Seider,
94
Dorothy L. Seider, nee Ketter, 94, of West Bend, passed away on
Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1918 in Milwaukee to the late Oscar and Adele
“Della” (nee Hase) Ketter. On March 22, 1941, Dorothy was united in
marriage to Hilbert “Hip” Seider in Milwaukee. Hip preceded her in death
on Oct. 12, 1987.
Dorothy worked as the secretary and was one of the matriarchs for Seider
Heating and Air Conditioning. She was a charter member and enjoyed
expressing her faith at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Dorothy enjoyed
quilting with her friends every week, Cedar Ridge friendships and card
clubs, summers at her Random Lake Cottage, and loved being with her
family on all occasions.
She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Adrienne) Seider of
Milwaukee, Mark (Ruth) Seider of Mequon, and Scott (Laura) Seider of Fox
Point; seven grandchildren, Joel Seider of Lake Villa, Ill., Molly
Seider of Milwaukee, Jennie (Brendan) Dolan of Milwaukee, Amy
(Christopher Dick) Seider of Milwaukee, Nicholas (Rebecca) Seider of
Morgan Hill, Calif., Rachel Ragan of Mequon, and Benjamin (Katie) Ragan
of Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren, Cameron, Julia, Nathan, Ella,
Finnegan, Adia, Oliver, and Joaquin; sister-in-law, Alice Seider of
Brookfield; and other relatives and many friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hip Seider; two
sisters, Grace Trapp and Phyllis MacDougal; brother, Oscar Ketter Jr.;
parents-inlaw, Arthur and Clara Seider; sister-in-law, Evelyn Cappelle;
and two brothers in-law, Gerry Seider and Harold Seider.
A memorial service in remembrance of Dorothy will be held on Sunday,
Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 7750 Highway 144 North,
West Bend. The Rev. Robert Korytkowski will officiate. A reception and
luncheon with the family will follow the service.
