Leroy J. Wollner,
Leroy J. Wollner, 87, of Newburg died at home surrounded by his family on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. He was born March 3, 1925 on the family farm in the town of Saukville to the late John and Lillian (nee Hoffman) Wollner and married Delores C. Theisen on Jan. 27, 1951 at St. Mathews Catholic Church in Campbellsport.
Leroy was born and raised on the family farm that he worked his entire life. He was active as a trustee at St. Augustine Catholic Church in the town of Trenton and involved in the Ozaukee County Farm Bureau and the Equity Livestock Co-op.
Leroy’s life revolved around his family, his farm and his Catholic faith. He enjoyed socializing and playing sheepshead with family and friends.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores; his five children: Al (Kathy) of Newburg, Diane (Larry) Kahlscheuer of Washington Island, Wis., Don (Debbie) of Newburg, John (Becky) of West Bend ,and Joe (JoEllen) of Newburg; and nine grandchildren: Brad (Yukari) Wollner of Japan, Tyler Wollner of Newburg, Samantha Kahlscheuer of DePere, Matthew Kahlscheuer of Ann Arbor, Mich., Daniel Kahlscheuer of Green Bay, Dominic Wollner of Newburg, Derick Wollner of Green Bay, Kylie Wollner of West Bend, and Alayna Wollner of West Bend. He is further survived by his brothers-inlaw and sisters-inlaw: Henry (special friend Marion) Theisen of Eden, Norbert (special friend Darlene) Theisen of Campbellsport, Arlene (Ray) Fechter of Brooksville, Fla. and Kathy (Roger) Schmidt of Kewaskum, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian Wollner; his sister Lucille (Lawrence) Thomas; his father and mother-in-law: John and Bernadine Theisen; two sisters- in-law: Viola Theisen and Jeanne Theisen; and a brother-in-law, John Theisen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Chapel in the town of Trenton with the Rev. Kevin Kowalske presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend from 4-7 p.m. and also Saturday, at the church only from 10-11:15 a.m.
