Laura A. Dahm (nee Borchert), 87, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.

Laura was born at home on Jan. 5, 1925 to Arthur and Arabella (nee Ganns) Borchert. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School, class of 1944. Laura married Richard “Dick” Dahm on Jan. 11, 1947 at Holy Angels Parsonage of West Bend.

Laura worked at Amity Leather Factory for over 31 years, the Linden Inn for 23 years, Toy World for two years, Colonial Restaurant for six years and also Bob Fish for 16 years.

Laura was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend. She was also a member of the McDonald’s Coffee Club. Laura had a passion for cars. She had a number of them over the years and could name the make and model of any, if given the challenge.

Laura is survived by her sisters Delores Allen and Ruth (Jerry) Hayes; sisterin- law Betty Dahm; nieces and nephews Doug (Rose Ann) Westphal, Mike (Charlene) Westphal, Terry (Dawn) Westphal, Jeanne Hayes, Timothy Hayes, Linda Ahrens, Laure Ahrens, Toby (Pam) Allen, Tony (Cindy) Allen, and Tina Allen; and many other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; sister Violet (Edgar) Westphal; brothers-in-law Sandy Allen and Jack Dahm; and sisterin- law Grace (Joe) Ahrens.

A funeral service for Laura will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend with the Rev. Guy Roberts presiding. Visitation will be from 1-2:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Washington County Memorial Park to bring Laura to her place of rest. Memorials are appreciated to Horizon Home Care and Hospice (13111 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon, WI 53097) or St. John’s Lutheran Church (809 S. Sixth Ave., West Bend, WI 53095).
