Hildegarde B. Metz (nee Weiss), age 96, found her way to Jesus on a ray of sunshine on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 in West Bend. She was born in Duisburg, Germany, on Sept. 15, 1916. Hildegarde lived in Florida for 35 years.

She is survived by her loving children, Margaret (Harvey) Medinger of Cedar Grove, Barbara A. Winter of West Bend and Walter (Gwen) Metz of Cedarburg, and dear friends, Robert and Karen Belger. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mathias; and sons Mathias Jr. and Joseph.

The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend) with the Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service at 3 p.m. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
