June
M. Reilly, (nee Schmidt), 82, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Cedar
Lake Health & Rehabilitation in the town of West Bend.
She was born on June 19, 1929 in West Bend to the late William and Ethel
(nee Meyer) Schmidt. June graduated from West Bend High School in the
class of 1947. She then moved to Milwaukee where she graduated from
Prospect Hall Secretarial School. While in Milwaukee she met her future
husband, John "Doc" Reilly, and they were united in marriage on
Jan. 6, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa. In 1953 after John finished school at
Marquette University School of Dentistry they moved to West Bend to raise
their family and work.
June was employed as a secretary for the West Bend School System for 21
years, retiring in 1987. Her husband John Reilly preceded her in death on
Sept. 24, 1988. June later married John Schroeder.
June was a life-long member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church. She
was a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary pink ladies,
secretary for the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the YMCA, and was
named Washington County Volunteer of the Year in 1993.
June is survived by her four daughters, Colleen (Rev. Wayne) Drueck of
Wausau, Kathleen (Jack) Koehler of Brookfield, Charleen (Robert) Mayer of
Crystal Lake, Ill., and Laureen (Gerald) Ruplinger of West Bend; nine
grandchildren, Allison Drueck, Joshua Drueck, Amy (Brennan) Russell, Ted
Koehler, Rebecca Koehler, Sarah (fiancé Chris Johnson) Mayer, Patrick
Mayer, Russell Ruplinger, and Melissa Ruplinger; other relatives and many
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Reilly; and a
sister Janet Schmidt.
Funeral services in remembrance of June will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4
at noon at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Son-in-law The Rev.
Wayne Drueck will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on
Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private family en-tombment
will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials to Cedar Community Hospice are appreciated by the family. The
