Eleanor A. Miller, nee Bodden, 96, of West Bend died on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at The Kathy Hospice. She was born on March 11, 1915 in Theresa to the late Edmund and Pauline (nee Ritger) Bodden. Eleanor grew up in Theresa, attending local schools.
Following her marriage to LeRoy H. Miller on Nov. 15, 1939, the couple settled in West Bend. For many years, she worked at various apparel stores, including JC Penny, Ley’s Department Store and Men’s Apparel.
LeRoy predeceased Sept. 6, 1985.
She was a member of Holy Angels Parish, the Mission Circle and the Good Samaritan Guild.
Survivors include two children Thomas (Suzanne) of West Bend and Mary L. of West Bend; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters: Leo (Dolores) Bodden of Kewaskum, Esther Kirsch of St. Lawrence, Loretta Sauer of Fond du Lac, Alice Bingen of Allenton and Alfred Bodden of Theresa; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter (Helen) Bodden and Bernard (Norma) Bodden, one sister Flora (Richard) Johnston, three brothers-in-law Walter Sauer, Anthony Kirsch, Sr. and Norbert Bingen and one sister-in-law Ann Bodden.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Friday from 4- 5:45 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to Holy Angels Parish, the Kathy Hospice or the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
