John Kevin McCormick, 57
John
Kevin McCormick, 57, of Oak Creek (formerly of West Bend) passed away
peacefully at home with his family on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, after a
courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 15, 1954, in
Grand Rapids, Mich., the son of Eugene and Doris McCormick.
He was the beloved husband of Jane, devoted father of Cameron (Howey),
Alexander, and Nadia, dear brother of Jim (Angie) McCormick, Scott
(Denise) McCormick, Lynne (Greg) Mick, and Connie (Wayne) Olson, and
cherished son of Doris McCormick. He was also loved by many nieces,
nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dear brother, Dale McCormick, and his
beloved father, Eugene McCormick.
He graduated in 1972 from Oak Creek High School and received his Bachelor
of Industrial Engineering Degree from General Motors Institute in 1977. He
completed his Juris Doctor Degree at John Marshall Law School in Chicago
in 1983 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar Association at that time. In
2002, he was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar Association with a further
degree in Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law. He enjoyed careers in
industrial engineering with General Motors, consulted in quality for many
manufacturing companies throughout the years and was self-employed as an
attorney specializing in intellectual property law. He was passionate
about helping his clients pursue their dreams.
Visitation to be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th St., Oak
Creek, on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by a memorial
service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Memorials would be appreciated to
the family for the children’s education or to the National Kidney
Foundation of Wisconsin.
