Florence A. Haumschild
Florence A. Haumschild, age 92, formerly of Plymouth, passed away late Thursday evening (Feb. 23, 2012) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
She was born on July 5, 1919 in West Bend, a daughter of the late Arnold J. and Elizabeth M. (Bellman) Appenzeller.
She attended West Bend grade schools and West Bend High School, graduating in 1937.
Florence attended Spencerian College of Business in Milwaukee.
On Nov. 20, 1948, she married Willis Haumschild at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. The couple has resided in Plymouth since 1970.
She worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company for many years as an operator.
Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1972.
She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
She enjoys word searches and spending time with family and grandchildren. Florence will always be remembered for making the greatest chocolate chip cookies. She always had a candy dish full of sweet treats and ice cream cups in the freezer for when the grandkids would visit.
Survivors include five children, Marge (Dave) Hein of Plymouth, David (Heike) Haumschild of Germany, Barbara (Fred) Bergmann of Fond du Lac, Bill (Sherri) Haumschild of Plymouth, and Patricia Klunk of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren, Chris Hein (fiancée Jessica Saeger), Nicole Hein (Jason Eigenberger) , Nathan Hein and Jana Valeo, Lisa and Mike Haumschild , Elizabeth (Neil) Peterson, Patrick Sweeney, Becky Haumschild, Andrew Klunk, and Katie Klunk (fiancé Jared Sheldon); six great grandchildren, Hanna, Aiden, Augie, Oliver and Isadora, and Kaiden; and sister-in-law Helen Haumschild of Florida.
She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Steven Haumschild.
Funeral Mass will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Cascade.
Friends may call at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Florence’s name.
