Patricia A. Freeman, 65

Patricia A. Freeman (nee Murphy), 65, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend following a courageous, but short battle with cancer.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1946 to Cyril and Mary Ann (nee Biskobing) Murphy. Patricia was united in marriage to Terry Freeman on April 30, 1965. She was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 41 years. She was instrumental in starting the hot lunch program at St. Mary’s School in West Bend while her children were enrolled there.

Patty was an active member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 732 in West Bend. She served as an International Officer. She was an Academy of Friendship member, Collegian and Star Recorder within her own chapter. She went on to become Deputy Grand Regent of Wisconsin, then served on the International Academy of Friendship Board for two years. In 2010, she was appointed as the dean of the International Academy of Friendship Board. She also served as chairman for Moose Charities.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Terry of West Bend; children, Ann (Brian) Borchardt of Campbellsport, Mike (Kelly) of Normal, Ill., Russ of Red Granite, and Kae (Chris) Anderson of West Bend; grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Christopher, Lindsay, Zachary, Alexander, Emilee, Ryan, Bethany, Megan, and Alec; siblings, Linda (Tim) Iliff, William (Carol), Colleen (Larry) DeJong, and Daniel (Chris); mother, Mary Ann Makal; step-siblings, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Cyril, and brother, Thomas Murphy.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend (1420 W Paradise Drive) with Pastor David Schoob presiding. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 7 from noon until 2:45 p.m.
