Anita D. Fritz 98

Departed this life on Jan. 3, 2012, to be with her Savior at the age of 98 years. She had been a resident of Lasata Care Center, Cedarburg, for the past two years. Anita was born Sept. 23, 1913, at Hustisford, to the late Andrew and

Dorothea (nee Keup) Leitzke. She was baptized into the Christian faith at home on Oct. 5, 1913. On April 10, 1927, she confirmed her baptismal vows at English Ev. Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.

A 62-year member at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, she was an avid participant in weekly Bible classes where she was admired for her Biblical understanding, thoughtful questions and Christian witness.

In her younger years Anita served with the PTA, the Lasata Volunteers and as president of the Ozaukee County Homemakers.

Survived by her children: David (Beth) Fritz of Cedarburg; Caryl Hatzinger of Sugar Grove, Ill.; Priscilla (David) Ruhe of Des Moines, Iowa. Grandchildren: Brian (Tiffany) Fritz of Middleton; Steven (Laura) Fritz of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Jennifer (Ben) Priem of Eau Claire; Michael (Carol) Hatzinger of Newbury Park, Calif.; Jeffrey (Kim) Hatzinger of Wheaton, Ill.; William (Andrea) Hatzinger of Montgomery, Ill.; Johathan Ruhe of Arlington, Va.; and Paul Ruhe of Cheyenne, Wyo. Brother Victor Leitzke of Westminster, Md. Further survived by 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Anita was preceded in death by husband Loren, three sisters and one brother.

The family thanks the Lord for the blessings of the pastors of First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dr. Kevin Goniu and the wonderful loving and dedicated staff at Lasata Care Center.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg. Interment will take place Saturday afternoon at Hillside Cemetery, Columbus.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
