Allen D. Becker, 85

Allen D. Becker, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at his residence surrounded by loving family. He was born in Slinger on Nov. 10, 1926 to Arthur and Anita (nee Kimmerling). He graduated from Slinger High School Class of ’44 and then entered the Army serving in the Philippines Island of Luzon during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he worked for the telephone company and then began a career at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, retiring as a captain. He loved the outdoors and spending time up north. He enjoyed woodworking and working on his farm, but especially loved spending time with his family. Allen was a member of Slinger VFW Post #3358 and the Wisconsin Sheriff & Deputy Sheriff Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Louise (nee Schwamb); children, Mark (Sue) of Plover, Beth (David) Olsen of West Bend, Sue (Dennis Vlasak) of Slinger, Anne (Mark) Uecker of St. Francis; four grandchildren, Fritz and Andy Becker, Michael Vlasak, and Anna Uecker; sistersin-law, Laura Rothenbach and Camille Prondzinski. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Held amd Marjorie Becker; and one brother, Ronald.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at 6 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (200 E. Washington St., Slinger) with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. The visitation will be at the church on Friday, Jan. 13 from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass at 6 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery (new) on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Peter’s Endowment Fund or St. Stanislaus Kostka in Armstrong Creek (529 US Highway 8, Armstrong Creek, WI 54103).
