Thomas J. Stoiber Sr., 80, of Jackson and Silver Cliff died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. He was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Milwaukee to the late Engelbert and Catherine (nee Bertz) Stoiber and married Mary C. Gallett on April 29, 1950 in Wauwatosa.
Tom was employed as a machine operator at Evinrude Motors for 43 years. Following his retirement they moved up north to Silver Cliff. He was a hard-working man and enjoyed gardening, Western books and loved spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary, four children: Susan Lorenz of Jackson, Tom Stoiber Jr. of Jackson, Judy (Greg) Holcomb of Jackson and Tim (Brenda) Stoiber of West Bend, and 10 grandchildren: Bob Lorenz, Michele Lorenz, Amy Lorenz, Mark (Crystal) Stoiber, Jennifer (Greg) Seif, Carrie Jentink, Jessica Sowin, Jeremy Sowin, Jonathan Sowin and Danielle Stoiber. He is further survived by his six great-grandchildren: Tyler, Dillyn, Hannah, Kyle, Ethan and Ella, one brother, two sisters and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Engelberth and Catherine Stoiber, his daughter Nancy, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at noon at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Jackson with visitation from 10-11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of the donorís choice are appreciated.
We would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff members at the various hospitals and care facilities where Tom was treated and cared for during his illness.
