Sherry D. Wischer, 63


Sherry Wischer, 63, nee Hambly, of West Bend passed away unexpectedly at her home on her birthday, Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

She was born June 27, 1949 to Albert and Isabel Hambly. Sherry grew up in a large loving family. After graduating high school she gave birth to her only child, Laurie.

Sherry enjoyed her factory job at Globe Union and made many friends there. She also worked at Dequardos Pizzaria in Menomonee Falls.

Sherry was married at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in 1973. For many years she was an Avon Lady and enjoyed meeting new people. After her daughter Laurie grew up, Sherry became a waitress at Around the Clock Restaurant in downtown West Bend. She worked there third shift for 13 years and was enjoyed by everyone she waited on. She had a wicked sense of humor.

Some of Sherry’s hobbies were stamp collecting, reading romance novels, dancing to ’50s and ’60s music, especially Motown. She was a part of the most memorable sheepshead games of all times. She will forever be remember as the worst mauerer at the sheepshead table, but will also be deeply missed.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Isabel, a brother Albert Jr., sister-in-law Colleen Hambly, special aunt Mary Kenny, cousin Mary Gallman, and father-in-law James and mother-in-law Lorraine Wischer.
Sherry is survived by her daughter Laurie (Jim) Fitzgerald); six grandchildren Patricia Chapman, Michael Glover, Victoria Winter, Tobias Winter, Katherine Fitzgerald and James Fitzgerald III; former son-in-law Paul Winter; her oldest sister Joy Ann (Robert) Weddig, their children Brian Weddig (godson), his children Jordan and Tyler Weddig, Brenda (Tom) Weddig Nicholson, Rob Weddig (also godson, wife Chris); her other older sister Mary Ellen (Scott) Schultz, her children Michael J. Krohn (also godson, wife Cynthia), Kimmy Fetzer, Brandon, Courtney, Trent and Angelo Alicia, Michael Krohn’s daughter Chelsea; younger sister Christine (Donny) Cartledge, their children Donny Jr., Tammy (Brian) Theisen, Zach and Ashley; her oldest brother Richard Hambly and his children Lisa Hambly Wortham – and Lisa’s son Tristan – and Tricia Hambly and her daughter Trena; middle brother Dennis (Diane) Hambly, their children, known as the No Necks, Jeremy (Heather) Hambly and Heather (Ryan) McCarty (goddaughter); and youngest brother Michael (Mary) Hambly, their children Keith, Jason, Mary, David – his children Kati and Deston – and Scott and his son Devon.

Sherry is also survived by loving friend Kerri Cable and her children Marco, Marina and Emiliano. Sherry is also survived by longtime friends Vicky Ward, the Batinich, and Chris Gross and her daughters JoAnn and Laura.

There will be a public visitation at 4 p.m. Friday, July 6 to remember Sherry and her life. It will be held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish in Barton where she was married. A Catholic Mass will follow at 6 p.m. Friday, July 6.
