William R. Kleinert, 83

William R. Kleinert, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Cedar Lake Hospice in West Bend.

He was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 21, 1928, to William and Martha (nee Kalbas) Kleinert.

Bill’s pride was in serving in the U.S. Army with the 196th Regimental Team Headquarters Co. in Alaska during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953. After service he married the late Ann (nee Nillissen). Bill loved the water. Along with waterskiing until he was 73, Bill loved to fish and enjoyed sharing the beauty of the lake and many fishing stories with his children and grandchildren. He loved teaching his filleting skills to his grandchildren. He had a sharp wit while playing sheepshead with his friends, yet we all will miss his gentle and kind smile. Bill was a proud Charter Member of the West Bar Sportsman’s Club, and the Moose Lodge 1398.

William is survived by his children Randy (Chris) of West Bend, Ronda (Tom) Sodemann of Waukesha, Kevin (Carol) of Valders, Kurt (Janet) of Cedarburg, companion Ruth Schwichtenberg. He is further survived by his grandchildren Sheri Lund, Paul and Tim Kleinert, Heather (Dave) De More, Heidi (Noah) Grams, David and Katie Sodemann, Abbey (Jared) Fink, Hilary, William and Isabel Kleinert, Sarah and Michael Kleinert, five great-grandchildren, sister Joyce Tuetkin, sister-in-law Dorothy (Roy) Pointer, Barbara Nillissen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ann, brother Eugene (Erika) and brother-in-law “Bing” Tuetkin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at St. Frances Cabrini Church (1025 S. Seventh Ave.) with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini Church.

“We will always remember Dad as a wonderful man we all could love.”
