Joseph T. McCaughey, 80

Joseph T. McCaughey of Neenah, formerly of Grafton, left the life he loved on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the age of 80.

He was born in Chicago on June 22, 1932, to J.E. and Florence McCaughey. He spent his childhood in the Chicago area. Joe graduated from Culver Military Academy and Northwestern University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Joe spent his career in the automotive industry; as a district sales manager all over the Midwest, local sales or owning interest in a variety of dealerships. This love of cars was shown in what he drove, including a restored Mustang convertible. Joe’s favorite pastimes were teasing, fishing, golf, and flying kites, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Beverly “B-Ann;” daughters, Kathryn (Al) Cissa of Dundee and Susan (John) Meinecke of Grafton; and grandchildren, Blake, Adam, and Austin Cissa and Claire and Sarah Meinecke. Joe is further survived by his father-in-law, Joe Braun, “outlaws” Marigen (Russ) Carpenter, Bill (Peggy) Braun, and JoEllen (David) Wollangk, as well as extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marion McCaughey; mother-in-law, Helen Braun; and infant granddaughter, Hannah Meinecke.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 2nd Ave., Grafton. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name to the church are
appreciated.

These few words cannot express the depth of love that we shared and will continue to share.

Hey … Jaytee … go fly a kite!
