Herbert J. Jurss, 85, of West Bend died on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Froedtert Health St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born on May 10, 1927 in Milwaukee to the late Herbert and Helen (nee Tribovii) Jurss. While growing up in Milwaukee, he attended area schools, graduating from Boys Tech.
On May 30, 1959, he was united in marriage to Virginia E. Bresser in Burlington, Iowa. In April 1966, the family moved to West Bend.
For many years, he worked as an accountant for various manufacturing firms in the Milwaukee area. They included Cutler-Hammer, Arthur Smith Industries and Phoenix Products Company. In 1992, he retired from Bend Industries.
He took great joy in bowling, golfing, fishing and watching football. He also loved all of the family dogs.
He was also a Red Cross volunteer driver for many years.
He was a member of Holy Angels Parish and the Loyal Order Of Moose West Bend Lodge 1398 where he served as secretary and received his Pilgrim Degree on Aug. 25, 1996.
Survivors include his wife Virginia; six sons Scott (Sally) of West Bend,
Christopher (Sheila) of Elmhurst, Ill., Keith (Michelle) of Bartlett, Ill., Neal (Lisa) of Farmington, Joel (Penny) of Pewaukee and Dean of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren Andrew, Jennifer, Jacob, Joshua, Adeline, Jared, Kyle, Jeremiah, Bryce, Kaitlyn and Kolton; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert and his step-father Everett Lockwood.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church only on Saturday from 10 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
