Joanne Lynn Curry, 54 |
Born April 27, 1958, fishing goddess Joanne “Jo” Lynn Curry’s struggle with cancer ended peacefully on the morning of Saturday, June 9, 2012, with her family by her side.
An inspiration and positive influence professionally and personally, we will remember her independence, her progressive, tolerant attitude and the change she has catalyzed in many who may not have been given a chance otherwise, not to mention the change she wrought in herself over the years. We cannot forget the beautiful images she captured with her cameras and how intertwined with the natural world she was. The evidence, too, rests in her freezer, where there are countless filets of walleye, trout, salmon and perch.
She is survived by her mother, Agnes Curry (nee Monfils), father Jack Curry, brothers Bill and Dave, sister Colleen Swartz, daughter and son Clair and Andrew Sleger, and pets Ringo, Deke, Willie and Doris.
A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at Riveredge Nature Center outside of Newburg from 3-9 p.m. Potluck dinner. Service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to several different charities are being accepted. Contact Andy (608-445-0038) or Clair (414-477-9428) for more information.
