Bernard “Bernie” C. Poupore, 73, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. He was born in Spalding, Mich., on May 13, 1939, to Clifford and Marie Poupore.
After he graduated, he played for the Milwaukee Braves for six years, after which he started to work at AT&T for 20 years. He later worked for Equitable Bank until his retirement in 2005. Bernie enjoyed all sports and loved golf. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (nee Gallob); cherished children, Noelle and Jeffrey (Cheryl Shavlik); grandchildren, Quentin, Caelyn, and Gwen; and siblings, Maurie (Kay) and Gary Poupore. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother in-law, Thomas Gallob; and mother-inlaw, Dorothy Gallob.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI 53095). The visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 902, Pewaukee, WI 53072).
