Mildred V. Balkwill,
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, 979 N. Green Bay Road, Grafton, for Mildred V. Balkwill, who passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012, at the age of 83. A visitation will be held on Sunday, at the funeral home, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A private entombment will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Mildred was born on Aug. 17, 1928, in Kiel, the daughter of Arthur and Lydia (nee Mathes) Dedering. She later married Charles Balkwill on Oct. 21, 1947, at the St. Peterís Ev. Reformed Church in Kiel.
Their marriage was blessed with two children, Sherry and David.
Mildred was a longtime, active member at the Grafton Baptist Church and served as the financial secretary for the church. She enjoyed knitting and was known to knit baby blankets for the newborns of her church.
She was a loving and caring person who put others before herself.
Mildred will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
Mildred is survived by her children, Sherry (Dean) Kelley and David Balkwill; grandchildren, Kim (Shawn) Riley and Bryan Kelley; great- grandchildren, Mykayla, Monica and Jaden Silva; step-great- granddaughter, Emma Riley; and siblings, Gilbert (Marion) Dedering, Donald (the late Betty) Dedering, and Shirley (Arden) Mogenson. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Charles Balkwill, after 64 years of marriage.
