Lucille D. Slicker
Lucille D. Slicker (nee Miller), age 72,
passed away peacefully on
Feb. 24, 2012, with her family by her side, following a courageous
battle against cancer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rus F. Slicker.
They were married on Aug. 26, 1961, in St. Peter’s Catholic
Church,
Stevens Point. Their marriage was blessed with 45 years of happiness
and three children. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating,
gardening and spending winters in Naples, Fla. Lucille’s
greatest
joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and family
members. She will be deeply missed by her children, Steven (Lori) of
Mequon, Sarah (Daniel) Peterson of Whispering Pines, N.C., and David
(Jennifer) of Mequon. She was the devoted and proud grandmother
of
Samuel, Benjamin and Rachel Peterson, Madeline and Joseph Slicker
and
Christopher Bonilla. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Evelyn
Haskey, West Bend; Rita Klicinski, Marshfield; Mary Zinda, Stevens
Point, brother Raymond (Debbie) Miller, Middleburg, Ind.; sister-in-
law Beverly Miller, Oconomowoc; brother-in-law, Kenneth Slicker,
Stevens Point, 20 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and
friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Mary (nee Bemowski)
Miller, two brothers, Laurence and Eugene and one sister, Elizabeth
(Betty) Glodowski.
A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Lumen
Christi Catholic Church, 138 Buntrock Ave., Thiensville, on March 9,
2012, at 11 a.m. Family will greet guests one hour prior to
the
service. A private prayer service will be held at Resurrection
Cemetery and Mausoleum, 9400 Donges Bay Road, Mequon.

The Slicker children want to thank all the medical staff who treated
their mother during her illness. A special thank you Hospice
nurse
Kira Testin and in-home caregiver Larisa Marchemco for their
compassionate care during Lucille’s final month.
